Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

This is a sample terms document for product preview. It does not constitute legal advice. Please consult a qualified lawyer before publishing.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Tripa you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

3. Bookings

Tripa connects guests with hosts. When you book, you enter into a separate agreement with the host. Tripa facilitates payment, messaging and support but is not party to that agreement.

4. Payments

Payments are processed through our payment partners. Prices are shown inclusive of applicable fees. Refunds follow the cancellation policy of the specific listing.

5. Cancellations

Each listing has a cancellation policy (Flexible, Moderate or Strict). The policy is shown before checkout and applies to your booking.

6. Host responsibilities

Hosts must describe listings accurately, honor confirmed bookings and follow local laws and regulations.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, attempt to access it by means other than the interface we provide, or use it to harass other users.

8. Content

You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant Tripa a worldwide, royalty-free license to display it as needed to operate the service.

9. Liability

Tripa is provided 'as is'. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tripa is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of your country of residence to the extent permitted, otherwise by the laws applicable to Tripa's principal place of business.

12. Contact

Refunds & cancellations

Every listing displays its cancellation policy (Flexible, Moderate or Strict) before checkout, with the exact day-based refund percentages. If the host cancels an event, every guest receives an automatic full Stripe refund regardless of policy. Service fees may be retained on partial refunds. The full rules are described on our Trust & Safety page and are part of these Terms by reference.

Disputes & governing law

Any dispute arising from your use of Tripa will first be addressed by good-faith negotiation between you and us. If unresolved within 30 days, the dispute will be finally settled by binding arbitration administered under the rules of the competent arbitration body of the jurisdiction in which Tripa is incorporated. You and Tripa each waive any right to a jury trial or class action. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

Placeholder — replace with the venue, governing law and dispute body confirmed by your legal counsel before launch.

Host vs. guest responsibilities

Hosts are responsible for

  • Accuracy of listing details, capacity and pricing
  • Legality of the stay/event/trip in their jurisdiction (permits, taxes, insurance)
  • Safety of the venue and the experience they deliver
  • Honouring confirmed bookings and the published cancellation policy
  • Responding to guest messages and check-in requests on time

Guests are responsible for

  • Providing accurate booking and payment information
  • Respecting house rules, capacity and local laws
  • Damage caused during the stay/event
  • Showing the issued QR ticket at the gate — non-transferable
  • Cancelling within the deadline of the listing's policy

Tripa is a marketplace — we facilitate the transaction and payment but are not a party to the contract between host and guest, except where explicitly stated.
